Giveaway #1: Geared for Guys by Emily Herrick
Hello! Welcome to my space. If you are new, feel free to check out my blog while you are here. I am an aspiring fiber artist who sews, knits, embroiders, and draws, among other things. Yay for Giveaway Day!
Today I have three different giveaways. The first is for a signed copy of Emily Herrick's book, Geared for Guys. This book is full of patterns that appeal to the men in our lives (though unforunately, not my own). I want this book to be loved by someone and hope that is you.
One comment per person. Giveaway ends Friday when I get home from work (midnight-ish) and I will draw for a winner right away. If you are a no-reply commenter, I will pick someone else. You are eligble to win all of the giveaways I have today as I will not draw again if the same person comes up for more than one.

Ack! Buying Christmas presents for my husband is SO HARD. I made him a calendar for his office with pictures of our boys in it. He told me I wasn't allowed to give him anything quilty for his office because then he would get made fun of. ;)

What a great book idea! We need more quilt options for the men..boys in our lives! I certainly would put this to good use as I have 2 sons & 3 grandsons and of course a wonderful Hubby!

I have a hard time finding something for him. I have decided on a new lunchbox for work with lots of different containers to go inside.
I suppose my husband and I are a little non-traditional. Instead of buying each other individual gifts, we both decide on a gift that we would enjoy together. This year we decided to buy a new TV for the living room and a new computer for our den. Last year, we bought a Kindle. Who knows what next year will bring!

He will be getting a gift cert. to the classic car parts store, he is restoring a 1952 Ford pickup, and I would have no idea what to go in there and buy him. I am sure I will get him a little something else but what I don't know yet.
I just bought him the new Batman movie, and I'm sewing him and my preschooler matching flannel PJ pants (he has two pairs that he has had at least since college, so at least 5 years, and he actually wears them. otherwise I wouldn't have assumed he'd like a new pair!)

Oh I love this book - fingers crossed for me ;) I plan on getting the hubby a bottle of vintage port as that is his favrourite thing. We have a lovely decanter and new port glasses so I think I will sew a gift bag for it too - to make it a little more personal! He is really hard to buy for.

We finally bought wedding rings this year! We did not buy rings when we married because we worked for a company that we could not wear jewelry. We retired! So now, after all these years, we have rings! well almost. They should be done soon.

Great question. I'm making him a custom Nyan Cat embroidery, plus he's getting a candle (we love candles around here), and a phone case :)
I'm getting him a welding cape and gloves so he doesn't burn himself while fabricating

This is going to sound weird but I am getting him a set of spoons lol. He is constantly complaining about not having enough spoons and who "took" all the spoons sheesh! You'd think there was an evil spoon elf on the loose. So I decided I would get another set of spoons to make him happy :-)

I am planning on getting my DH a game for xmas, i would love to see if there is anything in this book that he might actually like.
He pretty much asks for what he wants, so right now he is wearing two of his "Christmas" gifts. I'm going to make him some pillowcases and a cherry stone heating pad to soothe his shoulder while he waits for surgery on it.
He makes things too and he wants a piece of walnut timber to carve his own gun stock. I can't wait to see it finished. Excited.

My hubby and I don't do regular Christmas gift exchange, but we gift each other whenever we find nice gifts (lol). Thanks for the giveaway!
Aren't guys frustrating? I've made mine a sweater he actually agreed to, and then at the end he tells me he won't wear wool (we were just dating then); and an acrylic sweater I'll admit is just awful (use proper yarn - they're less likely to dislike it, and even if they do, you can claim it as a boyfriend sweater - which I did with that first wool one, with a fabulous fair isle pattern!); and a pair of (cotton) socks that he does honestly try to wear, but they're a bit tight over the instep (I keep wearing them damp in the hopes they'll stretch). But I did make him a huge blanket (just stripes) that he really likes...
It's a bit easier this year with the baby - he's the babywearer, actually (although I have a backpack she goes in when we take walks without the stroller), and she's outgrowing the baby bjorn, so I got him a larger hip carrier, and I hope to get him an Otter Box for his phone (Galaxy Note II, no box released yet - but his birthday's in Feb., so then if not before).
I'e been curious about this book....there was nothing in there your guy liked? lol...I hope he's just picky? (okay, that wouldn't be great for you)
Gift cards are mostly where it's at for me. I know, not at all romantic. But men are tricky!
My hubby wants many thing related to hunting so I'm sure that's what he'll be getting.
