I am a 31 year old former art student working my way into calling myself an artist. My main interest is working with fibers and also love film photography, painting, and drawing. I love to explore new things that involve working with my hands. My life is about constant learning. I love to read and am soaking up knowledge about the world around me. I truely cannot imagine life without this desire.
Life for me before returning to school was boring. I hold a degree in Human Resources and was working jobs that I felt I had to do instead of having a passion for them. It took a lay off in the summer of 2009 to return to the path I need to follow. I always have had a strong desire to create, whether it be visually or through music, but suppressed this becuase I was told it was the right thing to do.
I live with my amazing boyfriend, Chad, and our two dogs, Jameson and Angus, in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Being near-by the largest city in North Dakota means we can experience both urban life and also the natural world of the prairies of the Red River Valley. It took me a long time to really appreciate where I live, though we do want to move to the country in the future.
My motto is, "Not all who wander are lost", courtesy of J.R.R. Tolkien. I have a severe case of wanderlust. This literally means the desire to travel, but I also feel it means a desire to explore. This exploration for me is not limited solely to travel (though I do love to experience new places).
I am a private person but also very open and honest (yes, a possible contradiction). If you have an questions about me, please feel free to ask. I am always willing to give an answer, though I may not offer up all information up front.
Thank you for stepping into my world!
